Giacomo Domenici is a Scientist at the Advanced Cell Models Laboratory (iBET/ITQB NOVA, Portugal) since 2018. He holds a PhD in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine from the University of the Basque Country, where he studied the role of SOX transcription factors in breast cancer stem cells and endocrine resistance. His current research focuses on 3D cell models for cancer studies—including breast cancer, Ewing sarcoma, and gliomas—with applications in drug discovery also in collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry. His interests also include cancer cell biology, the tumor microenvironment, oncoimmunology, and the development of targeted therapies.
