Since 2020, Isabel has been working at AICIB as Delegate and National Contact Point for Health in the European Research Programme Horizon Europe. She has a degree in Biology–Genetics and PhD in Molecular Biology. She has complementary studies in Bioethics.

Between 2009 and 2020 she was Head of the Research Support Office at National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge and Executive Secretary of the Health Ethics Committee.

Since 2015, she has been Expert in the Ethics evaluation panels for the European Research Council (ERC).
